Course | Typography
Year | Fall 2005
Size | 17" x 11"
Description:
For this project, I chose to recreate the directional information noted when traveling from my house in the morning to a turn at the bottom of the hill. I chose Myriad as my font because of the many type families within it which help establish hierarchy which was a goal of the assignment.
This design is well balanced with typography as well as supporting graphic elements found throughout the design. To achieve visual hierarchy within my poster, I applied many typographic methods including the use of styleds such as bold and italics, and other methods such as the manipulation of tracking, color, and size.
The text and the graphic circle elements help visually depict the dangers and the amount of caution needed to proceed from point A to point B. I chose colors that best represent me in the morning. Although the black and blue are dark, they are still striking, dramatic, and they catch the viewer’s eye.
